Ross Campaign Announces Third Quarter Fundraising Numbers

  • ROSS CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES 3rd QUARTER FUNDRAISING TOTALS Campaign Passes the 1,000 Donor Mark With 1,063 Donors Joining the Ross for Congress Team

Lakeland, FL – The Dennis Ross for Congress campaign, today announced 3rd quarter fundraising totals. The Ross campaign raised $140,267 in the 3rd Quarter, bringing the total raised in slightly over two quarters (seven months) to $377,156.

The Dennis Ross Campaign continues to see overwhelming grassroots support through individual donations and event attendance. With new donors in the 3rd quarter, the campaign has now received 1,063 donations, of which, 823 of those are from within District 12. This total represents 429 new in-district donations in just the 3rd quarter. In addition, over 250 volunteers attended the Ross Campaign Volunteer BBQ on September 1st. Upon release of the numbers, Dennis Ross said,

“We are very excited about the direction of the campaign financially, especially going into a very difficult holiday fundraising period. We are also excited about how geographically diverse our donor base is. From Sun City Center to Plant City, Lakeland to Winter Haven, Bartow to Haines City, and across District 12, individuals have chosen to invest in my track record of standing up for principle, and for that I am deeply humbled.”

Ross continued, “I have attended events and visited nearly every city in the District more than once, and everywhere I go people are fed up with people whose only concern is getting their name in the paper or getting themselves re-elected. That is why people are energized by this campaign. They are investing in a proven commodity that has stood up for conservative principles of real government reductions, real tax cuts, and real market reforms. From fundraising and petitions to volunteer events and phone calls, the support I have received is energizing and I look forward to 2010.”

Campaign Manager, Fred Piccolo, commented further on both the Ross campaign fundraising totals and Democrat, Lori Edwards’ report.

“In tough economic times, in an open seat, raising over $140,000 at the end of the summer months shows the strong, local support Dennis enjoys. Put in perspective, Dennis received 429 in-district donations this quarter to Lori Edwards’ 15. Couple the in-district financial success with a strong petition drive, and having already directly communicated with over 25,000 voters in the district, the Ross campaign is in a strong position to finish off the year and start strong in 2010.”
