House Republicans, Including Congressman Adam Putnam, Unify Behind Dennis Ross

Lakeland, FL – The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), including our Congressman, Adam Putnam, today officially endorsed Dennis Ross for Congress. The NRCC is a political committee made up of every Republican Member of the US House of Representatives devoted to increasing the 178-member Republican Conference.

Following the endorsement, Dennis Ross said,

“I am humbled and energized by the endorsement of the NRCC today. The NRCC, under the leadership of Chairman Pete Sessions, is returning our party to its roots; reminding voters that we are the party of ideas, of innovation, and of empowering consumers and families. We must never stop confronting a one-size fits all bureaucracy in our customizable country. I look forward to earning the support of the voters of the 12th District and bringing their values with me.”

Dennis went on to say, “It is especially an honor and a privilege to earn the support of my Congressman and my friend, Adam Putnam, in this endorsement. Congressman Putnam continues to serve the people of District 12 with honor, distinction, and can never truly be replaced. Florida’s farmers, ranchers, and growers have no better friend, and Florida’s taxpayers have no better defender. He will make an excellent Commissioner of Agriculture and will no doubt be a leader for Florida for many years to come.”

Dennis Ross concluded by saying, “We are living in perilous times. The government continues to grow, our children and grandchildren are saddled with debt, Washington seems to think it has all the answers, and entrepreneurs are punished and irresponsibility rewarded. But we can change that. I know that returning the values of District 12; hard work, paying your debts, living within your means, and supporting your friends and family, can work in Washington. American citizens have faced bigger challenges than this and just as we have done in the past, what makes this country great, will win the day.”

In addition to the support of the NRCC and Congressman Putnam, Dennis Ross has earned the endorsement of: Former Governor Jeb Bush as well as Senator Paula Dockery. Local leaders have also endorsed Dennis’ bid for Congress including, GOP National Committeeman Paul Senft, Former Polk GOP Chair Jean Burt, The Reverend Lynne Breidenbach, and Florida Federation of Republican Women President Linda Ivell.

The NRCC’s origins date back to 1866, when the Republican caucuses of the House and Senate formed a “Congressional Committee.” It supports the election of Republicans to the House through direct financial contributions to candidates and Republican Party organizations; technical and research assistance to Republican candidates and Party organizations; voter registration, education and turnout programs; and other Party-building activities.

The NRCC is governed by its chairman, U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions (TX-32), and an executive committee composed of Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Chairman is elected by the House Republican Conference after each Congressional election. Republican Leader John Boehner and the seven other elected leaders of the Republican Conference of the House of Representatives serve as ex-officio members of the NRCC’s executive committee. The NRCC can be seen on the web at http://www.nrcc.org.

Dennis Ross was born October 18, 1959 in Lakeland, Florida. He was the youngest of five children born to Bill and Loyola Ross who moved to their Polk County home in 1955. Dennis earned his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and his Law Degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. He has been an Associate Attorney with Holland & Knight, in house counsel with the Walt Disney Company, and since 1989, has been a partner in his own firm, Ross Vecchio. Dennis and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 26 years and have two sons, Shane and Travis.
